Instead of making two threads I thought I'd make just one introducing myself and asking this question. Sure it's not as though there is limited space on the internet or anything but still for convenience sake (actually for my own convenience) I thought I'd put both here.
Well I'm Anthony as you've probably gathered from my username, and I am a Shaunaholic. I've followed his work from his Full Frontal days when I was in Primary school (and something tells me I was not the intended audience). I looked forward to it every week and enjoyed all the performers, especially Shaun.
I then discovered his work on ABC with the Micallef P(r)ogram(me) and I've followed him ever since. After a few restraining orders I've since followed him only on television and the occasional movie that interests me.
His work has been a major influence on me as an aspiring writer. While my writing may not most of the time show that he was an influence, his work has actually changed how I approach my own material whether it be a short story or a screenplay.
I got to meet Shaun out of the blue. I was selling comics for a friend of mine and out of nowhere there he was with his son looking at comics.
Now as a personal rule I don't like to go up to a celebrity and interrupt their daily business (like stop them for an autograph while they are walking down a street) but here I had a reason to talk to him and for him to talk to me! No guilt! I got his autograph and I had a friendly chat with him. And I got to tell him how his work meant to me. I got to sell him comics and I sold his son some trading cards. What a day it was (and I was cranky because I missed out on a chance to meet a comic artist I really liked but this was better!).
This was the only time I was ever starstruck!
Now for the second part of this thread: What on earth was that audio commentary on Episode 8 of the Season 2 dvd of the Micallef Programme? I suppose I could look around onine but I thought this would help start some new chat abut the show!
