I gotta tell you, although I enjoyed his wordplay-filled intros and some of the off the cuff things he says, I am not huge on shaun wasting his creative talents becoming a channel ten personality and a gameshow host. I dunno...maybe it'll grow on me.
Newstopia would have been better, especially in the 8.30 slot sbs were offering. its just in this show i dont feel i'm getting my shaun fix. I dont think he's totally comfortable in this role either.
I usually love everything he does, so i'll definitely keep watching over the weeks, but yeh i'm a little dissapointed.
What do you guys think?

I liked it. It's not my ideal Shaun vehicle and the teams don't do much for me, but he got to do pretty much everything I wanted to see over the course of the show and seemed to be having fun with it most of the time.
(Newstopia I think had run its course after three series, and was in it's own way not the perfect fit for Shaun either (too much reading news jokes, not enough performance).)
For a 7.30pm game / panel show he did more than enough to keep me coming back. I just hope that a): it's a ratings hit, and b): Shaun promptly moves onto something else using his new-found clout.

To be honest, I was surprised. I expected it to be rubbish and it wasn't. It was 45 mins (adjusted for advertorials) of light, fluffy and somewhat amusing entertainment. Shaun's hosting was great. I think I agree that the teams did very little for me - but I'm sure this will only get better as the team captains (or whatever they were) become familiar with each other and Shaun's style. It's just sooooo good to see Shaun back on the telly regardless of what the vehicle is

Am I alone in finding it kinda slow and meandering. I think it needs to be pacier. Also some of the camera work didn't capture some of the improvised stuff Shaun was doing quite as well as it could have. Still, it was fairly entertaining and Charlie Pickering didn't annoy me nearly as much as I thought he would. And he won for my generation - yay!

I thought it was fine pace-wise, apart from when it got to the 'toys & games' bit. Why did the teams have to have six questions each? Three would've speeded things up nicely.
Also I'd put Shaun in picture within picture when he's reading & the teams are doing the game, rather than flipping back & forth then we'd get all the little improv bits (like playing the theme tune on the desk).

It just seemed really awkward how he was jumping back and forth from desk to "play area" with his card. I'm sure these things will smooth out when they get into the swing of it.

Could be a good show with some tweaking, needs harder questions to keep the viewers interested and maybe paced up a bit.
Shaun was great, the "regulars" are going to shit me. Oh and his on Nova this morning...again, he was on it last week, brilliant as usual
