Negative gearing do you want the five minute argument or a proper debate?
Dear Editor
The election was run on the Monty Python sketch of the five minute argument. Yes it was. You can say no it wasn’t. That will be the total summery of the whole election campaign. Yes it is. You can say, no, it isn’t. And if we keep this up we do create a parody of the economic debate today.
Negative gearing is as much a PC determined subject to a real estate agent Liberal as Homosexual marriage is to a Gay green. Yes it is, now you say, no it isn’t. Then we are having a fair dinkum election debate.
Baby boomers are robbing kids of their future. Yes they are. You say no they are not. Now we are debating like politicians. See why they are paid so much they can keep this up for years.
Shame that any debate cannot get beyond the Monty Python version of a five minute argument and of course the dead parrot sketch plus the hitting your opponent across the face with a large dead cod, unfortunately that is all we pay our politicians to do pretend they are in a Monty Python film and act accordingly.
Look watch the brave gay knight in a dress, go into school and convert all the little kids into little fairies see how the beautiful people are magically going to re-colour the Great barrier reef.
See how the jobs will grow for bureaucrats and public servants when we find more funds for health and education, and baby boomers are robbing kids of their future. Yes they are. You say, no they are not.
See how just like magic, billions of dollars will be sprinkled across the schools of Australia will turn out endless mathematicians and scientists. Yes it will you say no it won’t. See how spending billions on Aboriginals will close the gap. Fairy dust mixed with bulldust. Blinded by the light deaf to all reason, negative gearing must be right. Yes it is, no it isn’t. Yes it is, no it isn’t. Oh my head hurts it is all too deep for me I am not a Liberal voter I do not understand.
